Job summary

Gist Limited is hiring a Depot Infrastructure Project Manager to lead IT infrastructure projects across the depot network. You’ll design, implement and hand over facilities, coordinating engineers, vendors and operators to minimise disruption during 24/7 logistics operations.

You’ll challenge designs, review proposals and drive technical decisions to keep sites secure, resilient and high performing while delivering on time and budget. Strong networking and project delivery skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering IT infrastructure projects within logistics, warehousing, distribution or similar operational environments.
• Experience delivering infrastructure for new sites, fit outs, relocations and upgrades.
• Strong practical knowledge of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, structured cabling, telecommunications and communications room infrastructure.
• Technical ability to review designs, challenge vendor proposals and resolve delivery issues.
• Experience delivering infrastructure in operational environments through engineering or technical project delivery.
• Proven experience managing vendors, contractors and suppliers, alongside multiple workstreams, priorities and dependencies.
• Strong technical and project documentation skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across UK and Ireland.
• Experience within supply chain, logistics or distribution operations.
• Knowledge of warehouse technology environments, including handheld terminals and operational printers.
• Experience with Extreme Networks, Cisco or equivalent networking technologies.
• A recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or PMP.

Responsibilities

• Manage depot infrastructure projects through to completion from design through to handover, controlling scope, budget, timelines and risk.
• Deliver new depot openings, upgrades, fit outs, relocations and infrastructure refresh programmes.
• Coordinate networking, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, structured cabling and communications room infrastructure.
• Lead delivery through internal teams, engineers, vendors and contractors, ensuring targets are met.
• Review designs and vendor proposals, resolving delivery issues where required.
• Ensure infrastructure meets security, resilience, performance and availability standards.
• Support warehouse technology deployments including handheld terminals and printers.
• Ensure tech integrates with underlying network and wireless infra.
• Keep stakeholders informed and aligned throughout delivery.
• Share standards and lessons learned within the Project Management team.
• Ensure all projects comply with IT security, governance and HSE requirements.
