Job summary

Coalesce Recruitment Limited is supporting a Smethwick depot-based role as a Depot Engineer. You will train to inspect, repair, service and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems on moving decks on HGV vehicles.

The position offers ongoing training, career development, and a close support network of experienced engineers and managers. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, with a 1-hour lunch.

Qualifications

• Qualified to NVQ level or equivalent in mechanical engineering, vehicle mechanics, plant machinery.
• Comfortable using a range of hand tools; basic fault finding on electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, service and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems on moving decks on HGV vehicles.
• Shadow experienced engineers during comprehensive workshop training and develop practical skills.
• Work Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, with 1 hour lunch break.

Depot Engineer – Nationwide Service Provider – Smethwick – Full Training Provided

Salary: £29,120 - £31,200 + 20 Days Holiday + bank + pension + Workwear + Full Training Provided

Joining their depot based in Oldbury which is their centre of excellence for moving decks you will be trained on how to inspect, repair, service and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems on moving decks on HGV vehicles which will include changing ropes, pulleys, hydraulic rams as well as running trunking and wiring.

You will ideally be qualified to NVQ level or equivalent in mechanical engineering, vehicle mechanics, plant machinery or similar; be comfortable using a range of hand tools; have previous experience in repairing, maintaining or servicing mechanical equipment, plant or machinery and have experience in or an understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and basic fault finding on electrical systems although full training will be provided.

Working hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm with 1 hour lunch.

Consideration would also be given to enthusiastic a semi-skilled Mechanics, Fitters, Maintenance Engineers or similar who is now looking to progress their career, develop both their technical knowledge and practical skills within a business that offer genuine career progression
