Job summary

Rullion is recruiting for a Depot Driver / Shunter to join a busy rail logistics team in Goole. The role focuses on safe control and movement of traction and rolling stock within a depot environment, with duties including coupling/uncoupling and daily depot operations.

The candidate should have strong rail operations experience in a depot or yard, plus knowledge of Network Rail standards and excellent communication skills. Sentinel PTS is advantageous but not essential.

Depot Driver / Shunter - Rail Logistics

Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire

40 Hours per Week

Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:00 (Flexibility is required to meet business needs)

Are you an experienced rail professional with a background in shunting, rail movements, or depot operations? We are recruiting for a Depot Driver / Shunter to join a busy Logistics team supporting the safe movement of traction and rolling stock within a rail depot environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for the safe control and movement of traction and rolling stock, ensuring all activities are completed in line with operational procedures and safety standards. Key duties include:

• Safe control of rail vehicle movements
• Coupling and uncoupling vehicles, sets and units
• Operating as a competent Shunter
• Operating as a competent Shunt Vehicle Driver
• Supporting daily depot and logistics operations

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Strong understanding of rail operations within a depot, private facility, or rail yard environment
• Experience working as a Designated Person, Shunter, Driver, or similar rail operations role
• Knowledge of Network Rail standards and activities
• Excellent communication skills
• Good computer literacy skills

Desirable Experience

• Locomotive driving experience
• Shunting operations experience
• Experience working alongside Train Operating Companies (TOCs)
• Sentinel PTS card (advantageous but not essential)
