Job summary

Rullion requires an experienced Depot Driver / Shunter to join a busy rail logistics team. Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:00 with flexibility to meet business needs. The role focuses on safe control and movement of traction and rolling stock within a rail depot environment.

You will perform coupling/uncoupling, operate as Shunter and Shunt Vehicle Driver, and support daily depot operations. A background in depot/yard rail work, Network Rail standards knowledge, locomotive driving, and TOC

Qualifications

• Experience in rail depot or yard environments.
• Experience as Designated Person, Shunter or Driver.
• Knowledge of Network Rail standards.
• Locomotive driving experience.
• Experience working with Train Operating Companies (TOCs).
• PTS card preferred but not essential.

Are you an experienced rail professional with a background in shunting, rail movements, or depot operations? We are recruiting for a Depot Driver / Shunter to join a busy Logistics team supporting the safe movement of traction and rolling stock within a rail depot environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for the safe control and movement of traction and rolling stock, ensuring all activities are completed in line with operational procedures and safety standards. Key duties include:

• Safe control of rail vehicle movements
• Coupling and uncoupling vehicles, sets and units
• Operating as a competent Shunter
• Operating as a competent Shunt Vehicle Driver
• Supporting daily depot and logistics operations

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Strong understanding of rail operations within a depot, private facility, or rail yard environment
• Experience working as a Designated Person, Shunter, Driver, or similar rail operations role
• Knowledge of Network Rail standards and activities
• Locomotive driving experience
• Experience working alongside Train Operating Companies (TOCs)
• Sentinel PTS card (advantageous but not essential)
