Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) is seeking a Field Operations Manager based at our Alfreton depot in the Chesterfield & Mansfield area. You will lead an operational team, safely planning, designing and executing work on a 33kV distribution network while maintaining strong customer relationships.

This hands-on, depot-based role requires regular travel, with responsibility for delivering a work programme within a Capex/Opex budget of up to £10 million per financial year and meeting

Responsibilities

• Safety, health, environment and wellbeing of your team and customers in your area
• Lead a large multi-skilled team with ~40 direct and indirect reports
• Deliver your work programme within a Capex/Opex budget up to £10million/year
• Meet key performance indicators to underpin business success
• Respond rapidly to fault-related demands to maintain supply
• Collaborate with stakeholders to build and deliver annual work programmes
• Monitor, maintain and reinforce the distribution network for customers
• Build a succession pipeline for yourself and your reports
• Engage with customers and local councils regularly
• Understand OFGEM requirements including financing, margins and customer service (OFGEM RIG)
