Job summary

The Mason’s Arms in the Cotswolds is seeking a motivated Demi Chef to join our kitchen brigade. This role offers a clear path from Commis Chef with opportunities to develop skills and take on more responsibility, working closely with senior chefs to deliver consistently high standards of food and service.

You’ll prepare dishes to a high standard, handle mise en place, support the Chef de Partie, and maintain cleanliness and food safety while learning and progressing in a busy, quality-focused

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience, ideally as a Commis Chef or in a similar role.
• A genuine interest in cooking and seasonal food.
• A willingness to learn, develop and take on more responsibility.
• Good organisation and the ability to work efficiently during busy services.
• A reliable, positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
• The ability to work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard.
• Completing mise en place and supporting preparation across the kitchen.
• Assisting the Chef de Partie with the running of their section.
• Taking responsibility for designated tasks during service.
• Following recipes and maintaining consistency in presentation and portion control.
• Supporting junior team members and working closely with the wider brigade.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and allergen procedures.
• Managing stock rotation and helping minimise waste.
