Job summary

Leonardo Hotels is seeking a Demi Chef De Partie for The Midland in Manchester to support the Cold Kitchen section under the Chef de Partie. The role focuses on preparing afternoon tea, cold starters, salads and banqueting items, with emphasis on mise en place and hygiene.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Commis Chef or Junior Chef to develop skills in a professional hotel kitchen, with daytime/morning shifts and a clear progression path within the party-led kitchen team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and reliability.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and presentation of cold kitchen dishes.
• Prepare afternoon tea sandwiches, savouries and accompaniments.
• Support production of cold starters, salads, buffets and banqueting items.
• Complete daily mise en place and prep for service.
• Follow all food safety, allergen and hygiene procedures.
• Assist with stock rotation, storage and waste minimisation.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Work closely with the Chef de Partie and kitchen team.
• Support junior team members and contribute to team performance.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop skills across different kitchen sections.
