We are seeking a Demi Chef to join our team at Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour / The Ternary Restaurant. This restaurant provides a unique culinary experience, combining flavors from our grill, wok, and bar, with stunning views of the Sydney skyline. The role is available in Full-Time, Part-Time, and Casual capacities.

Job Description

  • Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef with menu preparation and ensure adequate supplies for service
  • Maintain high presentation standards and control costs across all food and beverage outlets
  • Support the implementation of cleanliness and organization programs within the kitchen and outlets
  • Lead by example, setting a positive tone for the team
  • Supervise the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef and Sous Chefs, delegate duties to ensure service demands are met

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in a professional kitchen
  • Experience with dietary requirements and menu adaptation
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP, and safety regulations
  • Food Safety Supervisor certification is preferred
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Creative culinary skills, aware of local and international food trends
  • Ability to collaborate with suppliers for quality sourcing
  • Organized with good time management
  • Committed to staff development, fostering a positive culture and productivity
