Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes is recruiting a Dementia Wellbeing Co-Ordinator to join Berkeley Lodge in Worthing. The role focuses on emotional, social and physical quality of life for residents living with dementia, planning and facilitating person-centred activities.

You will work 36 hours per week, 9am–5pm, with alternate weekends. Experience in dementia care and strong communication are essential; full induction and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• Professional or personal experience supporting individuals living with dementia.
• Experience working with older people, ideally within a care home, day service, or community setting.
• Experience in planning and facilitating person-centred activities, cognitive stimulation therapy, or therapeutic session.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and implement individualised care and activity plans based on residents’ life histories, hobbies, and personal preference.
• Coordinate diverse, therapeutic activities (e.g., reminiscence therapy, sensory sessions, and gentle exercise) that promote dignity and independence.
• Monitor residents' cognitive and emotional wellbeing, adjusting wellbeing strategies as needed while maintaining accurate records.
