Job summary

Scottish Borders Council in Galashiels is seeking a part-time care worker to join the Enhanced Dementia Unit at Waverley Residential Home. You will provide person-centred practical and emotional support, following individual care plans, to empower the people we care for and promote their health and wellbeing.

The role includes assisting with personal care, meals, mobility as needed, and safe administration of medications after training.

Qualifications

• SVQ2 or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
• PVG Adults – we will do this for you! SSSC registered.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred practical and emotional support as outlined in individual care plans.
• Promote health and well-being and meet needs in an inclusive way.
• Support service users in all aspects of life including personal care, eating, drinking and mobility if necessary.
• Be responsible for safe administration of medications, following relevant training.
