Job summary

Scottish Borders Council in Galashiels is seeking a part-time care worker to join the Enhanced Dementia Unit at Waverley Residential Home. You will provide person-centred practical and emotional support, following individual care plans, to empower the people we care for and promote their health and wellbeing.

The role includes assisting with personal care, meals, mobility as needed, and safe administration of medications after training.

Qualifications

  • SVQ2 or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
  • PVG Adults – we will do this for you! SSSC registered.

Hours: 28.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Qualifications: SVQ2 or equivalent is desirable but not essential. You can earn whilst you learn!

Training: All training is provided.

Requirements: PVG Adults – we will do this for you! SSSC registered.

The Role

This post will be based in the Enhanced Dementia Unit within Waverley Residential Home.

Providing person-centred practical and emotional support to empower the people we care for, as outlined in individual support plans.

Promote the health and well-being of the people we support and ensure their needs are met in an inclusive way.

Support, enable and involve service users in all aspects of their lives, including personal care, eating, drinking, and mobility if necessary.

Be responsible for the safe administration of Service Users’ medication, following relevant training.
