Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Delivery Suite and Triage Midwifery Coordinator to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight across the labour ward and maternity triage areas. The role focuses on coordinating staffing, managing acuity, and ensuring timely, high-quality care for women and birthing people throughout the maternity journey.

You will work closely with obstetricians, anaesthetists, neonatal colleagues, and senior midwives to oversee day-to-day

Qualifications

• Registered midwife with current UK NMC registration.
• Evidence of continuing professional development and CPD portfolio.
• Post-registration experience in maternity care and triage.
• Advanced neonatal resuscitation training or willingness to undertake.
• Recent evidence of neonatal life support.
• Teaching or mentorship qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery suite and maternity triage clinical activity to ensure safe, woman-centred care.
• Provide clinical leadership and oversee staffing, resources and patient flow.
• Assess demand, prioritise workload, escalate concerns, and make rapid decisions.
• Support obstetric emergencies and mentor multidisciplinary teams while maintaining safety.
