Job summary

SR2 is recruiting a Delivery Manager for a high-profile Defence programme in London, working with military personnel, engineers and senior defence stakeholders.

You will own day-to-day delivery, coordinate planning and resourcing, manage risks and dependencies, and report progress.

Active SC clearance is required; 3 days on-site; permanent role offering impact on national security.

Qualifications

Delivery Manager - Defence & National Security

Active SC Clearance Required | 3 Days On-Site | Permanent

I'm hiring a Delivery Manager to take ownership of a high-profile programme within Defence, working alongside military personnel, technical teams and senior defence stakeholders.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a fast-moving Defence technology environment, helping deliver solutions that have a genuine impact on national security.

The Role

You'll be responsible for driving delivery across a critical MOD programme, acting as the key link between the customer, engineers and wider delivery teams.

• Own day-to-day delivery, resourcing, planning and programme coordination.
• Manage customer relationships and engage directly with senior MOD stakeholders.
• Lead delivery across multidisciplinary teams, including military personnel, engineers and technology specialists.
• Oversee project risks, dependencies, milestones and reporting.
• Coordinate with other Defence suppliers and partners to ensure successful delivery.
• Balance agile delivery approaches with Defence governance, security and assurance requirements.
• Ensure projects are delivered effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years' experience in Delivery Management, Programme Management or Technical Project Delivery.
• Strong Defence experience is essential, ideally delivering digital, software or technology programmes.
• Active SC clearance or above is required - candidates must already hold clearance.
• Proven experience managing senior stakeholders within Defence or secure government environments.
• Strong understanding of delivery governance, risk management and agile methodologies.
• Confident working alongside engineering teams and translating technical delivery into clear customer updates.
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage senior military and government stakeholders.
• A proactive, adaptable approach with the ability to take ownership and deliver at pace.
• Experience working with Defence Digital, Dstl, DE&S or major Defence technology suppliers.
• Exposure to AI, machine learning, data platforms or secure software delivery.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence.
• Familiarity with classified technology programmes and Defence security frameworks.
• Experience coordinating mixed teams of military personnel, civil servants and commercial technology specialists.
