Job summary

Compass Associates are helping a leading provider of children's residential care recruit a Learning & Development Partner to deliver and enhance training across services. You will train staff, upskill teams, and ensure readiness to meet high care standards.

This on-site role involves regional travel, full-time hours, and strong support from the L&D team. Training covers induction, safeguarding, behaviour management, emergency first aid, medication, and ligature awareness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience within residential children’s services at Team Leader level or above.
• In-depth understanding of good practice, current legislation, and policy trends in children’s residential care
• Familiarity with learning approaches and best practice in L&D
• Strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage different audiences
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible and adaptable, willing to take on new tasks
• Previous experience as a trainer
• Training or teaching qualification
• Experience managing and allocating resources

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver training aligned with current standards
• Organise and run training sessions, coordinating with the L&D Coordinator
• Manage assessment and evaluation of training programmes, providing feedback
• Stay informed of legislation and best practice to keep content compliant
• Act as a Subject Lead in a specific area of expertise
• Maintain high standards of health and safety compliance
• Promote equality, diversity and excellence in service through training delivery
