Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a Senior Engineer – Delivery Management (Flooding & Drainage) to lead operational delivery across Derbyshire. You will manage a team of delivery officers, oversee planning and execution of drainage works from minor repairs to major schemes, ensuring projects meet specifications, budgets, and timelines while driving value for money.

Qualifications

• Significant drainage and flood risk delivery experience.
• Strong leadership and team-management abilities.
• Good understanding of CDM regulations and NEC contracts.
• Experience with procurement and contract administration.
• Public sector procurement knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of drainage and flood risk projects countywide.
• Oversee site investigations and develop technical solutions.
• Ensure CDM compliance and health & safety standards.
• Manage procurement, contracts, and supplier performance.
• Coordinate with water companies and Environment Agency.
• Monitor budgets and ensure value for money.
• Represent Delivery Manager in strategic forums.
