Job summary

numi is seeking a Digital Delivery Lead in the UK to own quality and delivery across an in-house engineering team. You will lead a multi-disciplinary group end-to-end, from development through production support, coaching the team to embrace excellent engineering practices.

You will drive iterative delivery using agile methods, set quality standards, and partner with Product Owners to align roadmaps with capacity. Hybrid working is available with strong benefits and career development.

Job description

Our client, a fast growing, multi site food and beverage retailer with a well loved consumer brand, is looking for a Digital Delivery Lead to take ownership of quality and delivery across an in house engineering team. You'll lead a multi disciplinary, self organising group of software engineers end to end, from development through to production support, while shaping how the business builds and evolves its digital experiences. It's a role for someone who loves coaching people as much as they love good engineering practice.

What you'll be doing

• Lead iterative software delivery using agile methodology, keeping process light and avoiding surprises
• Coach and guide a high performing, multi disciplinary, self organising engineering team
• Set and uphold quality standards across performance, maintainability, security, operability and resilience
• Partner with Product Owners to translate business requirements into realistic delivery plans that match the roadmap to team capacity and capability
• Embed a culture of continuous improvement so customer needs are consistently met and exceeded
• Manage third party SaaS supplier relationships, including budget ownership
• Measure and analyse team performance, and support both team and individual development
• Partner with the recruitment team to attract, hire, onboard and retain strong engineering talent

What we're looking for

• Experience leading, coaching and mentoring in house technology teams delivering high quality software
• A track record of iteratively delivering value using agile methodologies
• Experience building roadmaps and release plans, and providing estimates to a broad range of stakeholders
• Confidence managing dependencies across teams
• The ability to balance delivering new features with maintaining existing systems and reducing technical debt

Bonus points if you have

• Experience managing third party supplier relationships and budgets
• Background working in a fast paced, multi site consumer business
