Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a Section Manager for our Customer Delivery Hub in Southampton. You will lead a team of Partners responsible for direct-to-customer deliveries and ensure supply chain KPIs and customer service standards are met across the site.

The role includes working a fixed 3-week or 6-week rota, with shifts starting early mornings. Flexible hours and out-of-hours coverage are required to support business continuity and CSR commitments.

Qualifications

• Experience managing large teams in a fast-paced operations environment.
• Knowledge of transport operations and legal compliance.
• Proven ability to drive performance and achieve KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Plan operational resources daily and weekly with Partners and agency.
• Maintain relationships across operational teams for clear site communication.
• Monitor KPIs to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with transport planning team and manage transport office routines.
• Be flexible with hours; head of branch, out-of-hours and key holder responsibilities.
• Uphold CSR commitments and waste management standards.
