Job summary

IKEA Belfast is expanding our home delivery team and seeks a Delivery Driver to handle a range of furniture items, perform safety checks, load goods safely, and deliver to customers’ homes using GPS/maps. This is a Full Time role, 39 hours per week, with weekend work and a starting salary of £29,640 per year.

Flexibility to fit life and business needs is discussed at interview. You’ll be part of a supportive team delivering everyday practicality.

Qualifications

• Holds a Full UK Drivers License for a minimum of 24 months.
• Aims to deliver the best possible experience and is prepared to problem solve when things aren’t right.
• Takes Health & Safety seriously and is comfortable risk assessing the environment.
• Attentive to detail, especially when performing checks on the vehicle.
• Capable driver with experience using GPS and maps.
• Offers support to the team when needed to secure tasks.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle safety checks and take appropriate action.
• Load goods into the vehicle safely and meet timings for deliveries.
• Deliver goods to customers’ homes and take them into a nominated room, with risk assessments on location.
• Handle furniture items using safe manual handling practices and one- or two-person lifting.
• Deliver up to 3 runs per day and manage loading/unloading of the van (load capacity 1.4 tonnes).
• Oversee returns processing and support the fulfilment team.

IKEA Belfast are expanding our home delivery operation and have exciting opportunities to join our growing team as a Delivery Driver! We deliver all of our products ranging from LACK Coffee Tables to PAX Wardrobes you will be required to handle a range of furniture items and must be comfortable with extensive manual handling.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Full Time: 39 hours per week working 5 days per week, 2 out of 3 weekends.
• This role offer a salary starting from £29,640.00 per annum, based on skills & experience.
• Working hours are between 7am to 9pm, typical shifts will be 7am-5pm with 1 shift per week of 9am-7pm.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• You must have held a Full UK Drivers License for a minimum of 24 months.
• You aim to deliver the best possible experience, are prepared to step up and problem solve when things aren’t right.
• You are someone who takes Health & Safety seriously and are comfortable risk assessing your environment.
• You are attentive to details especially when it comes to performing checks on your vehicle.
• You are a practiced and capable driver, experienced in working with GPS and maps.
• You are someone who offers support and will step in to assist your team when necessary to secure tasks in connection to your role.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• You will be responsible for completing vehicle safety checks and taking appropriate action.
• You will load goods into the vehicle in a safe and organised manner ensuring to ensure that you are set up to meet allocated timings for each delivery.
• You will deliver goods to customer’s homes and take them into a nominated room, carrying out risk assessments on location to prevent injury and damage to property.
• We deliver all of our products ranging from LACK Coffee Tables to PAX Wardrobes you will be required to handle a range of furniture items using safe manual handling practices, employing both one and two person lifting.
• Deliver up to 3 runs per day, you will be responsible for the loading and unloading of the van for each of these. The load capacity of the van is 1.4 tonnes.
• Efficiently manage the collection and processing of returned products, ensuring compliance with IKEA's returns policy.
• Supporting your team within the fulfilment department.
