Job summary
Smiths is seeking a reliable Delivery Driver & Loader in Gloucester to support the Commercial Waste division. You will deliver and collect wheelie bins and equipment, while also performing yard duties and basic vehicle maintenance.
The role combines on-the-road delivery with hands-on yard work, requiring safety awareness, good customer service and the ability to work flexibly across driving and yard tasks. Outdoor, physical work with PPE provided.
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence required for safe driving and delivery.
- Experience in delivery driving, yard, warehouse or similar roles.
- Good understanding of health and safety in operational environments.
- Ability to load, unload and handle equipment safely.
- Basic IT skills to use tablets/handheld devices.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Safely deliver and collect wheelie bins, equipment and materials.
- Complete daily delivery/collection schedules efficiently and professionally.
- Record deliveries and collections using handheld devices and tablets.
- Assist with loading/unloading and yard-based duties as required.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic safety checks.
