Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking flexible and enthusiastic individuals to join as Post Person with Driving in the Totton area. You will drive a Royal Mail van and deliver letters and parcels come rain or shine, combining driving with walking parts of your route.

This temporary role offers the chance to be part of a vital community service, with shifts starting early and pay around £14.61 per hour, and potential progression to permanent roles.

Qualifications

• Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver letters and parcels in your community, come rain or shine.
• Drive your delivery area, with parts of the route completed on foot and providing excellent service.
• Handle and deliver election materials and certain items (such as food or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail standards.
