Job Description:

Do you like helping customers implement innovative solutions and solve technical and business challenges using the latest cloud computing and AI technologies? Do you have experience implementing systems that handle sensitive data and the consultative and leadership skills to launch a project successfully?

Are you familiar with security best practices and compliance standards for AI applications? Do you want to help establish Amazon Web Services as a leading AI platform? Would you like to be part of a team that focuses on understanding what's best for the customer and values your expertise?

Amazon Web Services is seeking a skilled Professional Services Data Scientist to help grow our Data and AI business in the UK, working with public sector customers. We need passionate, experienced consultants to help our citizens and community benefit from AI.

The role requires a balance of technical and consulting skills to work with business and IT leaders, software developers, and architects, shaping Professional Services engagements. You should be passionate about leveraging our platform to deliver tailored technology solutions and address industry needs.

You will build and expand your technical skills, helping customers understand how to architect and implement systems. You will work alongside partners, including systems integrators and ISVs, to ensure optimal customer outcomes. You should be comfortable working hands-on and guiding customers through ambiguity.

Responsibilities include:
  • Expertise: Collaborate with sales, pre-sales, training, and support teams to help partners and customers learn and utilize AWS services like Bedrock, Sagemaker, and other data services. Experience in architecture, software design, and operations in hybrid environments and large-scale projects is preferred.
  • Solutions: Demonstrate consulting skills through previous roles and on-site technical engagements. Participate in pre-sales visits, understand customer requirements, create proposals, and support negotiations.
  • Delivery: Lead onsite projects demonstrating AWS data and AI services. Communicate effectively across organizations.
  • Insights: Work with engineering teams to convey customer needs, share challenges, and recommend new capabilities. Experience or interest in the UK public sector is a plus.
  • Push the envelope: Imagine bold possibilities and work with clients to find innovative solutions using database, big data, and BI technologies. Think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
