Job summary

TXO is seeking a Deinstallation Assistant - Telecommunications in Andover, UK. Start on-site with a clear pathway into telecommunications, with training and progression toward Team Lead and technical specialist roles.

You will unload equipment, assist with installations and asset detailing, and support deliveries and collections. The role requires physical work, the ability to work away from home Monday to Thursday, a current driving licence, and competence in Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work as an independent worker while maintaining company standards.
• Able to lift heavy equipment and handle tools safely.
• Willing to travel away from home Mon–Fri on occasions.

Responsibilities

• Unload equipment from site vans and perform physical de-installation of telecoms equipment.
• Recover and manage redundant cable systems and related infrastructure.
• Move equipment to staging areas and loading bays for transport.
• Assist with deliveries, collections, and site access coordination.
• Record serial numbers, assist stock takes, and prepare stock for recycling.

Job Function

Reporting to the Head of Projects and Onsite Engineering Lead, this exciting opportunity allows you to start on-site and grow into something bigger. This is more than a deinstallation role, it’s a structured pathway into telecommunications, with training and progression towards Team Lead, Technical Specialist, and senior project roles.

Main Duties/responsibilities

• Unloading of equipment from site vans
• Physical de-installation of telecoms equipment.
• Recovery of redundant cable systems
• De-installation of infrastructure such as unistrut, cable tray and basket.
• Moving equipment to staging area / loading bays.

Assist with Deliveries & Collections

• Delivery of equipment & consumables to work site
• Delivery of equipment to clients’ sites
• Collect equipment from clients’ sites
• Rack collections
• Delivery of equipment to recycle centres
• Movement of equipment to TXO warehouses

Detailing Assets

• Record serial numbers of stock items.
• Assist with stock takes and inventory counting
• Prepare stock for recycling
• Prepare stock for transport to warehouse
• Labelling stock items

About You

• Independent worker but good team player
• Physical strength and ability to safely handle equipment; some of which can be very heavy requiring two people or lifting equipment
• Ability to work under own initiative, whilst meeting the standards of the company’s documented quality and environmental systems
• Ability to work away from home Monday to Friday
• PC skills, especially Word and Excel
• Able to be away from home Mon-Thurs on occassions
