Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking a Technical Author with a defence industry background to develop and maintain technical publications for MOD equipment and programmes. You will gather source information at military sites, interpret it for documentation, and collaborate with OEMs and engineering teams to produce operation manuals, maintenance guides, and training materials.

Qualifications

• Mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering background.
• Experience as REME mechanic or armed forces maintenance/equipment-support role.
• Experience with military technical publications or formats (AESPs/BRs/APs).
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail for clear technical guidance.
• Ability to analyse complex technical information and convert it into practical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Visit military/defence sites to gather and interpret source information for MOD documentation.
• Collaborate with OEMs and engineering teams to produce/update operation manuals and maintenance documents.
• Create clear, practical instructions for equipment users and maintainers.
• Ensure publications meet MOD and company standards and are delivered on time.
