Job summary

Expleo is recruiting a Systems Engineer to provide dedicated engineering support within a UK Defence Innovation team. The role focuses on propulsion systems, sub-system integration and uncrewed aerial systems (UAS), delivering expertise across requirements development, supplier engagement, technical assessment, assurance and trials, test and evaluation activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in propulsion and sub-system integration
• Experience with uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) or disposable air systems
• Experience in trials, test and evaluation planning
• Experience with suppliers during early-stage development/demos/prototype activity
• Experience within MOD/DE&S or defence innovation environments
• Proven ability to provide technical advice and deliver outcomes in aerospace, propulsion or systems engineering

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine technical requirements for procurement activity.
• Provide input into evaluation criteria and technical responses.
• Support early market engagement and supplier down-selection.
• Review supplier proposals focusing on propulsion maturity, integration risks and suitability for UAS.
• Support supplier assurance visits, demonstrations, and technical reviews.
• Produce technical assessment reports and evaluation evidence.
• Plan and execute trials, testing and evaluation activities.
• Define test objectives and evidence capture approaches.
• Provide technical advice to the wider engineering and defence innovation team.
• Support knowledge transfer through technical reviews and handovers.
