Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Chief Software Architect to lead software engineering strategy for advanced cyber and defence systems in Maidenhead, onsite. You will oversee 20–30 engineers across high-security projects, defining architectures and ensuring secure, scalable solutions using C/C++, Rust, Linux and RTOS.

You will drive DevSecOps, automated testing, and secure development standards while mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• Expertise in embedded and application software using C/C++, Rust, Linux, and RTOS environments.
• Experience with DevSecOps, automated testing, and secure development standards.
• Familiarity with defence/high‑assurance development standards (e.g., MISRA).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across multiple projects, ensuring architecture and tool chains are optimal.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop software requirements and designs that meet security needs.
• Work with software leads to create development plans delivering value early to customers.
• Mentor engineers and drive process improvements for technical excellence.
• Specify, design, and review software using UML and SysML modelling tools.
• Champion CI, automated testing, and secure coding practices.
