Job summary

Assystem is seeking a Security Lead to manage security aspects for a key Defence project. You will draft Security Aspect Letters, complete Cyber Risk Assessments, identify risks and implement mitigations, and support integration with internal and external stakeholders. SC clearance required with DV upgrade potential.

Role is Staff or Umbrella contractor, 3 days per week between Helensburgh and Glasgow, with rest of time WFH. GDPR, JSP 440 knowledge essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of JSP 440, GovS007 and the HMG Security Policy Framework.
• Strong organisational, administrative and record-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain security documentation, including Security Aspect Letters (SALs) and Security Management Plans.
• Conduct cyber risk assessments, supplier assurance activities, and compliance reviews.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and security stakeholders across complex defence programmes.
• Identify security risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Support Secure by Design principles and information assurance activities.
• Manage the secure release of information to third parties and overseas suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, JSP 440, JSP 628, and other relevant security policies and standards.
