Job summary

Roke is seeking an experienced Project Manager within its Defence Business Unit to lead bids and the end‑to‑end delivery of hardware and software development programmes. You will work with account and technical teams to craft compelling proposals, manage planning, risk, and governance, and ensure delivery against time, cost, and quality targets.

You will coordinate pre‑sale activities and post‑award execution, building strong client and partner relationships, while providing accurate forecast

Qualifications

• Excellent stakeholder management with internal and client partners.
• Pre-sale and bid delivery experience for defence programmes.
• Ability to propose assurance plans, business cases and investment appraisals.
• Strong governance, reporting and KPI forecasting capabilities.
• Experience managing hardware/software projects from concept through delivery up to £5m.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and accelerated development for user‑operational requirements (UORs).
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and multiple stakeholders in deadline‑driven environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of competitive bids addressing customer pain points with account and technical teams.
• Deliver hardware projects from concept to completion per contract, on time, within quality and cost targets.
• Provide governance and assurance for hardware development milestones.
• Manage project planning, trials, events and product demonstrations.
• Develop relationships with clients, suppliers, subs, and partners to ensure successful delivery.
• Forecast and manage project finance, revenue, cash and profit using company tools.
