Job summary

Modis International Ltd is seeking a Project Manager in Hertfordshire to lead complex projects across the full programme lifecycle. The role combines delivery with business-winning activities in a defence environment and requires BPSS clearance as a minimum.

You will engage with engineering, commercial, finance, supply chain and customer stakeholders to shape opportunities and ensure delivery against cost, schedule and performance commitments.

Qualifications

• Previous project or programme management experience, ideally in engineering, manufacturing, aerospace or defence environments.
• Experience operating within a matrix organisation.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing programme risk, cost and schedule performance.
• Understanding of project controls, schedule management and Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Experience influencing across multiple functions.
• Commercial awareness and sound business judgement.
• Bid, proposal or business-winning experience would be advantageous.
• Professional project management qualifications (APM, Prince2, PMP or equivalent) are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and delivery of complex projects and programmes.
• Support bid, proposal and business-winning activities, helping develop compelling and achievable customer solutions.
• Manage project schedules, costs, risks and resources throughout the programme lifecycle.
• Build strong relationships with customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate multi-functional teams to achieve programme objectives.
• Support programme governance, reporting and decision-making activities.
• Drive proactive risk and opportunity management.
• Contribute to project estimating, forecasting and resource planning.
• Ensure delivery commitments are achieved while maintaining quality, cost and schedule objectives.
• Promote continuous improvement and project management best practice.
