Job summary

Babcock International is seeking a Motor Transport Maintenance Technician to join its RAF Northolt site near Ruislip. You will perform maintenance, servicing, inspection, fault diagnosis and repair on a varied fleet of Ministry of Defence vehicles, ensuring operational readiness.

This is a hands-on role with a 37.5-hour week, Monday to Friday, 07:30–16:30, based onsite. Applicants should have Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, a full UK driving licence (B and C), and be eligible for

Qualifications

Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment and understanding diagnostic processes.
Experience within a fleet maintenance, military vehicle, commercial vehicle, heavy goods vehicle, or similar engineering environment.
Experience maintaining and repairing vehicles in a workshop setting.
Knowledge of fixed installation testing equipment, including roller brake testing, emissions and headlight alignment equipment.
Electrical direct current systems training and practical experience.

Responsibilities

Carrying out planned maintenance, servicing and repairs on Ministry of Defence vehicle fleets.
Diagnosing vehicle faults using specialist diagnostic equipment and established fault-finding techniques.
Conducting inspections and testing activities to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards.
Maintaining accurate maintenance documentation and ensuring compliance with engineering procedures.
Supporting the delivery of reliable transport capability for Armed Forces operations.
