Job summary

Babcock International is seeking a motivated Motor Transport Maintenance Technician to join the team at RAF Northolt, near Ruislip, Greater London. This on-site role focuses on maintenance, servicing and fault diagnosis of MoD vehicle fleets to keep operations ready and safe.

You will work an 37.5-hour week, Monday to Friday, 07:30–16:30, with opportunities to develop your engineering skills in a defence and aviation setting.

Qualifications

• Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment.
• Experience within a fleet maintenance, military vehicle, commercial vehicle, heavy goods vehicle, or similar engineering environment.
• Experience maintaining and repairing vehicles in a workshop setting.
• Knowledge of fixed installation testing equipment, including roller brake testing, emissions and headlight alignment equipment.
• Electrical direct current systems training and practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned maintenance, servicing and repairs on Ministry of Defence vehicle fleets.
• Diagnosing vehicle faults using specialist diagnostic equipment and established fault-finding techniques.
• Conducting inspections and testing activities to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance documentation and ensuring compliance with engineering procedures.
• Supporting the delivery of reliable transport capability for Armed Forces operations.
