Job summary

Staffline is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for an 8-week contract in Cambridge, focusing on designing mechanical sub-assemblies for defence platforms. You will deliver detailed 3D models and drawings using Creo and manage design data in Windchill to support project requirements.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet tight timelines, liaise with suppliers for rapid prototyping, and implement design-for-manufacture approaches across international supply chains.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical design engineering experience.
• Proficiency in PTC Creo CAD software & AAX plugin.
• Experience using Windchill for product data and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical sub-assemblies and components for integration onto platforms.
• Develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using Creo.
• Manage and maintain design data within Windchill PLM systems.
• Support design reviews and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver solutions to demanding timelines.
• Liaise with manufacturing suppliers and production facilities to support rapid prototyping and low-volume manufacture.
• Recommend suitable materials, manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacture approaches.
