Job summary

QinetiQ Limited is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer for Farnborough or Rosyth to stabilise and develop critical infrastructure. You will work hands-on across server and virtualization environments, contributing to design and build of next-generation systems.

You'll migrate to VMware stacks, document plans, and collaborate with network engineers while mentoring junior engineers. The role includes travel to BUTEC, with normal hours 8AM-4PM, Mon-Fri, a multi-site UK presence, and opportunities

Qualifications

• Strong experience in IT infrastructure with focus on server and virtualization technologies.
• Hands-on experience with VMware and virtualised environments.
• Experience working with Windows Server in complex environments.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, stabilise and improve infrastructure systems.
• Experience working in collaborative engineering teams and engaging with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support and deliver server and virtualization infrastructure solutions across key projects.
• Migrate and optimise environments into VMware-based stacks.
• Collaborate with network engineers to stabilise infrastructure environments.
• Build, configure and integrate systems across physical and virtual platforms.
• Produce technical documentation, test plans and implementation artefacts.
• Mentor junior engineers within the team.
• Occasional travel to BUTEC for essential works.
