Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Ground Integration Trials Lead for the Land Ceptor project in the UK. The role involves leading ground integration test events, coordinating with customers and partners, and ensuring rigorous evidence and risk management for trial activities.

The candidate will manage artefacts, report trial progress, and liaise with systems engineers and design teams to collect data and resolve issues across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience communicating with a wide range of engineering and management stakeholders.
• Experience working in large teams across multiple sites and departments.
• Proven experience with ground-based integration and proving, especially in Trundle, EMC, Interoperability and Thermal trials.
• Experience in configuration management and defect reporting.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of test artefacts to ensure requirement coverage and maintain configuration control.
• Lead a small team in conducting ground integration test events and review results.
• Report on test progress and produce formal result reports for the qualification period.
• Plan trials with stakeholders to demonstrate integration and gather evidence to qualify Land Ceptor from a Ground Trials perspective.
• Facilitate events with stakeholders, including external test houses.
• Liaise with systems engineering and design teams to obtain trials data and resolve design issues.
• Support safe trials by developing and maintaining risk assessments and managing hardware and software assets.
• Understand security implications within the trial environment.

This permanent position offers the successful applicant an exciting opportunity to work alongside various customers and industry partners within the UK and on export contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Taking ownership of test artefacts to ensure requirement coverage and maintain configuration control
• Leading a small team in conducting ground integration test events and reviewing the results generated
• Reporting on test progress and producing formal result reports for the qualification period
• Planning trials with stakeholders to demonstrate integration and gather evidence to qualify Land Ceptor from a Ground Trials perspective
• Facilitating events with stakeholders, including external test houses
• Liaising with systems engineering and design teams to acquire adequate trials data and resolve design issues
• Supporting safe trials by developing and maintaining risk assessments, and managing hardware and software assets
• Understanding security implications within the trial environment

Job Requirements:

Our client is looking for an engineer with the following skills:

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Experience communicating with a wide and varied range of engineering and management stakeholders
• Experience working within a large team, across multiple sites and departments
• Experience with ground-based integration and proving, particularly in Trundle, EMC, Interoperability, and Thermal trials
• Experience in configuration management and defect reporting

Experience in these areas would also be beneficial, though formal and on-the-job training will be available:

• Basic understanding of network/cable assembly drawings
• Fault finding and root cause analysis at subsystem integration level
• Experience in customer-facing roles
