Job summary

Thomas Search is seeking a highly skilled Construction Planner for a longstanding defence asset programme in Wiltshire & Hampshire. The role involves developing and supporting scopes of work, collaborating with designers, clients, military stakeholders, contractors, and project teams from concept to completion.

Qualifications

• HND or Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, M&E or related discipline.
• CSCS Planner Card (or equivalent).
• Eligibility for Security Clearance.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Extensive planning experience across pre-construction and onsite construction projects with strong knowledge of design, procurement, construction and commissioning programmes.
• Proven experience using Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, and a proactive approach to working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support project scopes of work while working closely with designers, clients, military stakeholders, specialist contractors and project teams from concept through to completion.
• Attend and contribute to internal and external meetings, presenting programmes and incorporating feedback into project plans.
• Coordinate and review contractor and consultant programmes against master schedules, ensuring alignment and effective delivery.
• Analyse activities, durations, critical paths and programme risks, forecasting completion dates and recommending recovery plans where required.
• Manage interfaces between procurement, utilities, commissioning, construction and client activities to minimise programme impacts.
• Prepare and issue weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports, progress updates and programme analysis.
• Monitor project progress against plans and produce delay and claims programmes with supporting information.
• Undertake commercial and contractual programme reviews, identifying potential impacts and opportunities.
