Job summary

Aramark UK is seeking a Chef to deliver exceptional dining in the Defence sector, with a permanent, full-time role at Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Strensall. You'll cook breakfast to dinner, lead kitchen standards, and mentor staff.

This position offers a 40-hour week, 5 days over 7, with a pay rate of £13.05 per hour. You’ll benefit from discounted meals, on-site parking, and opportunities for progression within a world-leading hospitality team.

Qualifications

• Relevant culinary qualification (706/1 or 706/2 or equivalent).
• Confident chef with excellent team spirit.
• Flexible and innovative.
• UK residency for the past 3 years and ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with minimal wastage.
• Deliver fine dining for functions and hospitality events.
• Support and coach new team members on kitchen standards and procedures.
• Follow recipe cards and maintain food quality.
• Assist with stock checks, food orders, and kitchen records.
• Monitor temperatures and complete due diligence paperwork.
• Help with daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans.
