Job summary

Howco Group in Sheffield is seeking a Deep Hole Borer to join our machine shop workforce. You will interpret engineering drawings and select machines and tools to manufacture components to exacting standards for the oil and gas sector.

The role requires experience with high-grade materials, deep hole boring, and a solid knowledge of tooling and machine tool capability, including feeds and speeds to optimise cycle times.

Qualifications

• 2 years machining experience with the oil and gas industry.
• Experience of machining high grade material.
• Experience of using deep hole borers.
• Working knowledge of tooling applications and machine tool capability including tool feed and speeds for efficient cycle times.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings to customer specifications and produce components to correct standards within production times.
• Select machines and tools from drawings, adhering to quality procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping for a safe and clean working environment.
• Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
• Be flexible and adaptable to change.
• Engage in problem solving.
• Machine components to customer requirements with minimal machining on parts received by customers at Howco.
