Job summary

Howco Group in Sheffield is seeking a Deep Hole Borer to join our machine shop workforce. You will interpret engineering drawings and select machines and tools to manufacture components to exacting standards for the oil and gas sector.

The role requires experience with high-grade materials, deep hole boring, and a solid knowledge of tooling and machine tool capability, including feeds and speeds to optimise cycle times.

Qualifications

• 2 years machining experience with the oil and gas industry.

Role Requirements

Sheffield Machine Shop produces machined components for the oil and gas industry. The machine shop is a mixture of CNC and manual lathes, deep hole borers and milling machines.

Duties and Responsibilities

Interpret engineering drawings to customer specifications in order to produce components to the correct standards within the estimated production times.

Select machines and appropriate tools required to manufacture components from engineering drawings, whilst working within company Quality procedures.

Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained to ensure a safe and clean working environment

Accuracy and attention to detail.

Flexible and adaptable to change.

Problem solving.

To machine components to customer requirements ensuring minimum levels of machining on parts received by customers at Howco
