Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is recruiting for a one-year fixed-term insourcing role to supply decontamination technicians to NHS Trusts, placed at partner hospitals. The work focuses on reprocessing surgical instruments in Rapid AER washer disinfectors and drying cabinets, including cleaning, inspection, packing and tracking to infection control standards.

Weekend scheduling is available around the candidate's availability, and the post suits those comfortable moving between new hospital

Qualifications

• At least 6 months' experience as a decontamination technician within the last 12 months.
• Proven experience working in the NHS.
• Experience with Rapid AER washers is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate Rapid AER washer disinfectors and drying cabinets to Trust protocols and national decontamination standards.
• Clean, inspect and pack surgical instruments for sterilisation.
• Keep accurate tracking systems and documentation.
• Follow infection prevention and control policies.
• Work with the wider clinical team in a fast-paced setting.
