Job summary

18 Week Support is seeking experienced Decontamination Technicians to join our team on an insourcing basis, supporting NHS Trusts. You will reprocess surgical instruments safely and efficiently, working with partner hospitals to reduce waiting lists and support patient safety.

You should have hands-on experience with Rapid AER washer disinfectors and drying cabinets, and be comfortable operating in fast-paced clinical environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Rapid AER washer disinfectors and drying cabinets.
• Knowledge of decontamination standards and infection control policies.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced clinical environments.
• Attention to tracking systems and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate Rapid AER washer disinfectors and drying cabinets in line with Trust protocols and national decontamination standards
• Clean, inspect, and pack surgical instruments for sterilisation
• Ensure accurate use of tracking systems and documentation
• Adhere to infection prevention and control policies
• Work collaboratively with the wider clinical team in a fast-paced setting
