Job summary

18 Week Support Limited is recruiting for a Decontamination Technician to support NHS Trusts through partner hospitals. The role involves reprocessing surgical instruments, operating Olympus washer disinfectors and drying cabinets, cleaning, inspecting and packing instruments, and maintaining tracking records.

Weekend scheduling is available to suit the candidate's availability. Applicants should have recent decontamination technician practice, proven NHS experience and hands-on Olympus

• Practising or recent practice as a Decontamination Technician for at least 6 months in the last 12 months.
• Proven NHS experience.
• Olympus experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate Olympus washer disinfectors and drying cabinets to Trust protocols and national decontamination standards
• Clean, inspect and pack surgical instruments for sterilisation
• Keep accurate tracking systems and documentation
• Follow infection prevention and control policies
• Work with the wider clinical team in a fast-paced setting
