Job summary

KIMS Hospital in Kent is seeking a motivated Decontamination Technician to join our Theatres team. You will ensure reusable medical instruments are cleaned, sterilised, and repackaged to the highest standards, supporting patient safety and care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

We value detail-oriented, process-driven staff with good literacy and numeracy. You will follow set procedures, work as part of a collaborative team, and benefit from a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Motivated and methodical Decontamination Technician to join Theatres team at KIMS Hospital.
• Ensure reusable medical instruments are cleaned, sterilised and repackaged.
• Support patient safety and care by maintaining high sterilisation standards.
• Confident IT skills and ability to follow set procedures.
• Previous experience in a CSSD or Decontamination Unit.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.

• Checking in used surgical instruments and equipment after procedures.
• Prepping and processing instruments for decontamination.
• Assembling surgical instrument trays to the highest standard.
• Using digital tracking systems to log and trace equipment every step of the way.
