Red Funnel Limited is seeking a Deck Mate to assist the Master and Mate with deck operations, loading and discharge of vehicle decks, and vessel maintenance. You will help allocate duties, maintain records, and ensure safety compliance on board, with liaison to the Chief Engineer.

Hours are 19.5 per week, Monday to Friday, primarily on the Red Kestrel. Residence should be commutable from Southampton terminals. A supportive work environment and strong benefits package are offered.

Formación

• ENG1 medical certificate and MCA Deck Hand qualification are required.
• MCA approved Sea Survival STCW and Fire Fighting STCW qualifications.
• Certificates must be current and valid for role at sea.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain vessel records, stores and fresh water supplies; liaise with Chief Engineer.

We are currently looking for a Deck Mate, to assist the Master and Mate with a variety of duties, including the loading & discharge of the vehicle decks of the vessel, and its systematic maintenance. You will be responsible, whilst on board, for the allocation of duties to the Deck hand and to ensure their satisfactory completion. The care and Maintenance of the vessel as well as good customer care are an intrinsic part of your responsibilities. In addition, you will assist in the vessel’s management by working to keep records up to date, stores ordered and fresh water supplies available. Liaison with the Chief Engineer on these matters is important. You will ensure that all members of your crew comply with Safety Management Systems and Company Policy.

Hours are based on 19.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday predominantly on the Red Kestrel. Accommodation isn’t available on-board so it’s key that you reside a commutable distance from our Southampton terminals.
