Job summary

Capgemini seeks a Mechanical Engineering Principal Lead / Decarbonisation Lead to drive heat decarbonisation programmes across industrial and infrastructure projects. Qualifications

• Requires degree qualification in mechanical/thermal/energy engineering with significant heat decarbonisation experience.
• Should have strong understanding of complete project lifecycle from feasibility to detailed design.
• Chartered Engineer status is desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead heat decarbonisation strategies for industrial and infrastructure projects.
• Oversee design and delivery of low‑carbon heating systems including ASHPs and LTHW networks.
• Deliver thermal modelling, energy assessments, and feasibility studies to identify decarbonisation opportunities.
• Provide technical leadership for mechanical engineering standards, design reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOPs.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated energy solutions.
• Mentor engineers and drive innovation, continuous improvement, and carbon reduction initiatives.
