Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in the UK is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support heat decarbonisation projects through detailed design and technical analysis. You will work with the Principal Mechanical Lead to develop low-carbon heating solutions and produce calculations and reports from concept to implementation.

Based in Broughton with 2–3 days in the office, the role combines hands-on design work with site surveys, design reviews and HAZOP contributions within a collaborative, inclusive team.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Experience with HVAC systems, heat pumps and industrial heating processes.
  • Knowledge of energy infrastructure and decarbonisation projects.
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed designs for heat pump and thermal systems.
  • Produce engineering calculations, plant layouts and documentation.
  • Support site surveys, assessments and design reviews.
  • Participate in HAZOP studies and project delivery activities.
