Job summary

Newcastle City Council is seeking a proactive Debt Recovery Officer to maximise income by recovering sundry debt and Housing Benefit overpayments in line with legislation and council policy.

You will work with customers to agree affordable arrangements, use a range of recovery methods, respond to enquiries and contribute to service improvement. Flexible working arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in debt recovery, income collection or enforcement is essential.
• Ability to negotiate affordable arrangements with customers.
• Clear communication across phone, email and letters.
