Job summary

Flint Bishop LLP is seeking an experienced Solicitor/Litigation Executive for its Debt Recovery team in Leeds. You will manage a varied caseload of defended debt matters, draft pleadings and statements, and advise clients through complex litigation with a focus on recoveries.

Reporting to the Head of Debts Services, you will work with colleagues to maximise recoveries while ensuring compliance with firm policies and legal procedures. Strong Excel skills and Liberate experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with at least 2 years’ PQE in commercial debt recovery.
• Experience managing a significant caseload of complex debt recovery matters.
• Excellent IT skills and ability to produce informative reports.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Liberate preferred (training provided).
• Strong communication skills including presenting data and findings.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a varied caseload of defended debt recovery matters, including small, fast track and multi-track claims.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, witness statements, court bundles and judgments requests.
• Provide strategic legal advice to clients and guide them through litigation.
• Prepare cases for hearings and manage enforcement actions such as insolvency and winding-up petitions.
• Develop case strategies and advise clients on optimal action.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and firm policies; maintain high standards of file management.
• Stay updated on legal changes and participate in training; collaborate to maximise recoveries.
