Job summary

FirstPort, the UK’s largest residential property manager, is seeking a Debt Controller for a hybrid role with 2 days in the New Milton office and 3 days remote. The role focuses on timely arrears chasing with a strong emphasis on customer service and cross-department communication.

You will report to the Debt Control Team Leader and work in a collaborative environment, handling multiple systems and aiming for continuous service improvement.

Qualifications

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and take ownership of issues through to resolution.
• Passionate about improving levels of service and supporting change and continuous improvement.
• Fully IT literate and confident with MS Office, able to work across multiple systems.

Responsibilities

• Credit control in accordance with Debt Collection procedures for England & Wales properties.
• Respond to solicitor queries and provide requested documents to aid in arrears recovery.
• Recover Housing Association debt and Landlord/Developer voids.
• Collaborate with internal departments to answer customer queries and ensure settlement of debts.
• Ensure all customer communications are handled per service level agreements.
• Perform general administration tasks related to debt control and recording actions.

Job Role: Debt Controller

Location: Hybrid role - 2 days working from our New Milton Office, 3 days working from home

Free Parking, 10-15 minute walk from New Milton Train Station

Hours: 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 1 hour lunch break

As a Debt Controller you will contribute to our vision of being the UKs favourite property manager by:

• Ensuring the timely arrears chasing of customer debt through first class customer service, whilst maintaining strong communications with internal departments.

The Debt Controller reports into the Debt Control Team Leader

About You

As you are able to work collaboratively with a team and department, you are also able to take ownership of issues and see through to resolution.

You are passionate about improving levels of service, and keen to support change and continuous improvement.

Being fully IT literate and confident with MS Office, means you also have the ability to work on multiple different systems simultaneously.

Main Responsibilities

• Credit control in accordance with Debt Collection procedure for all England & Wales managed properties
• Responding to solicitor queries and providing any requested documents to assist in the recovery of arrears
• Recovery of all Housing Association Debt
• Recovery of all Landlord/Developer voids
• Working with internal departments to assist with customer queries to ensure there is no block to settlement of all debts.
• All customer communications are responded to appropriately and in line with service level agreements.
• General administration tasks required for debt control functions and recording actions
