We are looking for an experienced Dealership Accountant to join our accounts team at our Ford Leeds site, overseeing accounts for one of our manufacturer partners. Here, you will be involved in the day-to-day running of the finance team, supported by an accounts assistant, working with the Head Office/Corporate Accountant. You will report to the Group Financial Controller.

About you

The ideal candidate will have experience within the motor trade, having worked as an Accountant or as a confident and experienced Assistant Accountant. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with and influence the Dealership Principal are essential. You should have an accounting qualification or be qualified by experience. Experience working with Pinnacle DMS and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are also required.

The role will involve overseeing all aspects of the finance function, including:

  1. Preparing management accounts and composites for submission to manufacturers.
  2. Overseeing financial reporting, compliance, and accounting processes, including sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring payments are made, and debts are promptly chased and paid.
  3. Supporting the dealership's management team to ensure timely and accurate reporting, while identifying trends and resolving issues.
  4. Managing the site's balance sheet, ensuring it is consistently reconciled and maintained.
  5. Coaching and training junior members of the accounts team.
