Deal Technology Lead – IT M&A & Post‑Deal Execution

Job summary

EY-Parthenon seeks an experienced Manager for Deal Technology within the Strategy and Execution practice. You will advise clients on IT aspects of M&A, spanning pre‑deal diligence, value creation, carve‑outs and integrations across industries, with a focus on ERP, HRIS, data and infrastructure.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, manage client relationships at senior levels, and contribute to deal origination and strategic transactions across the UK and Ireland.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related subjects.
• Experience of M&A transactions, ideally in performing IT Due Diligence and/or IT post‑merger integration, separation/carve‑out assignments.
• Broad knowledge of IT ecosystem aspects: Enterprise Architecture, IT Operating Model, IT Strategy, Enterprise Applications (ERP, HRIS, Customer & Sales systems), IT Infrastructure, IT Financials, Site Separation and Data.
• Expertise with IMO/SMO/TMO/VRO for delivering programs successfully in IT M&A contexts.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with senior clients, influence decisions and guide teams.
• Willingness to travel; role based onsite out of Belfast or Manchester with London travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Leading and/or contributing to IT pre deal, value creation, post deal, separation and integration engagements with clients across all sectors including Private Equity across the United Kingdom and Ireland (UKI).
• Manage cross-functional project teams comprising of colleagues from our transactions and advisory practices.
• Assisting in aspects of business origination, including pitches and presentations, and working in project teams comprising other colleagues from EY Parthenon, such as Operational and Financial Due Diligence, Corporate Strategy, Operational Strategy and Software Strategy Group.
• Working on client engagement teams who advise and support key decision makers in developing and executing strategies for transactions.
• Assess the client's state of IT readiness based on the transaction phase, this will cover the IT organisation, infrastructure, business and enterprise applications, data and service delivery.
• Support our clients through transaction execution planning to achieve strategic milestones, identify high‑risk areas, unidentified issues and areas of improvement.
• Learn and develop technical and personal skills to support achievement of career goals, through a blend of structured learning, coaching and practical experiences.
