Deal Analyst & Transaction Support Manager

We are working with an established and growing business brokerage and M&A advisory firm that supports SME business owners through the sale and acquisition of companies across the UK.

They are looking for a highly organised and commercially minded Deal Analyst & Transaction Support Manager to join their London team.

This is a varied role sitting at the heart of the transaction process. You will work closely with senior deal professionals and the Managing Director, supporting transactions from initial client onboarding and preparation through to due diligence and completion.

It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within M&A, corporate finance and private markets, while gaining direct exposure to live transactions.

The Role

You will act as a central point of support across a portfolio of transactions, helping ensure deals are properly prepared, documented and progressed.

Key responsibilities will include:

Transaction Preparation & Client Onboarding
  • Conduct onboarding and kick-off calls with new clients
  • Coordinate the preparation of businesses for the sale process
  • Manage the creation and amendment of transaction documentation
  • Ensure information required by the deal team is collected accurately and efficiently
  • Review and analyse company financial statements
  • Support business valuations and wider financial analysis
  • Build financial models where required
  • Assist with working capital, WIP and net debt calculations during due diligence and transaction negotiations
  • Support normalised EBITDA calculations and relevant adjustments
  • Liaise with accountants and financial advisers to verify key financial information
Virtual Data Room Management
  • Create, structure and manage Virtual Data Rooms for live transactions
  • Maintain accurate documentation, version control and stakeholder access
  • Track information requests and outstanding documentation
  • Support clients with Information Request Lists and gathering information from across their businesses
  • Support senior deal professionals throughout live transactions
  • Coordinate activity between buyers, sellers, lawyers, accountants and financial advisers
  • Track due diligence activity, transaction milestones and key deliverables
  • Identify potential delays or outstanding issues early
  • Prepare regular transaction status reports for clients and internal stakeholders
Process Improvement & Training
  • Help develop and standardise transaction workflows, templates and due diligence documentation
  • Contribute to improvements across internal systems and processes
  • Support the training and onboarding of new team members
  • Provide ongoing systems and process support to deal professionals
About You

You will ideally have:

  • A degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline
  • Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and project-management ability
  • Confidence working with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CRM systems and other technology
  • The ability to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously
  • A professional and confident approach when dealing with clients and external advisers
  • The judgment and discretion required when handling confidential commercial information
  • The ability to work independently, solve problems and meet deadlines
  • A genuine interest in M&A, corporate finance and how businesses operate

Previous exposure to financial analysis, transaction support, project management or CRM systems would be advantageous, although applications are also welcomed from strong graduates and early-career professionals looking to develop within the M&A sector.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on role within a fast-moving and entrepreneurial business where you will work directly with experienced deal professionals and gain exposure to transactions from preparation through to completion.

For someone ambitious, commercially curious and keen to develop their career in M&A, there is considerable scope for long-term progression.
